  • Why is Carrie starting this new practice?
To those of you who have trusted me, and Restorative Health Care, with your pursuit for better health, I am excited to announce that after much careful deliberation and research, I have decided to open my own Functional Medicine practice in Southwest Michigan – Insight Functional Medicine! Space in the practice is limited, and details about how to sign up are at the end of this letter. But first, I want to share with you how we got here and where we are going. READ MORE
  • Where is the new practice located?
I am still working on finalizing the location, but I plan on splitting time between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo. I will forward information as soon as I have settled on where we will be.
  • When does the new practice open?
We are hoping to open doors to the clinic and begin seeing patients in January 2020. We will release further information on a specific start date soon. We are taking reservations for membership from previous patients now and will be opening membership to the public in two weeks. If you know that you want to keep Carrie Palmer, PA-C as your Functional Medicine provider, we ask that you reserve your space in her new practice.
  • How can I contact the office before it opens?
Our office phone number is (269) 224-1659. We have a team available to help answer questions about the new practice and our services. Our email address is cpalmer@insightfunctionalmedicinecenter.com
  • Will Insight Functional Medicine accept insurance?
Our office will not bill insurance. You may pay by check, debit or credit card. Upon request, we can provide you with a copy of a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement for out-of-network care. A superbill is a detailed medical receipt that contains procedure codes, diagnosis codes, and the fees charged for your office visit. We cannot guarantee what reimbursement, if any, you may receive. We will not submit claims or call insurance companies directly. This is the responsibility of each patient. There are some flex spending accounts or health savings accounts that can be used to help pay for cash-based health care. Plans differ between insurance companies, so each patient will have to look at their specific guidelines. **For those patients enrolled in Medicare, Insight Functional Medicine has opted out of Medicare, meaning we will not be billing Medicare for services rendered. Therefore, patients are personally responsible for membership fees and by law are not allowed to file to Medicare personally for reimbursement.**
  • Will I be able to schedule vein or aesthetic procedures?
Unfortunately, the practice will not provide any aesthetic or vein services. We apologize for any inconvenience but due to staffing restrictions, we will only be offering Functional Medicine care.
  • Could I just order supplements without joining your practice?
Yes – we will be happy to serve all our past patients! We offer previous patients of Restorative Health Care a 15% discount off all supplements ordered through Fullscript. This is an online marketplace that offers top quality nutraceuticals. A majority of the supplements that were offered in our practice are available. Contact us if you don't have a supplement available. To create an account and start ordering please click here.
  • Did you happen to bring the hyperbaric oxygen chamber to the new practice?
We're excited to share we did keep the hyperbaric chamber! Because of the significant improvements we were seeing in the health of a number of patients in just a few months, we felt it was important to continue to offer it to help further improve healing capacity. Hyperbaric therapy is a technology in which the air pressure in the environment is increased. When a person’s body is placed in a higher pressure environment, it absorbs more oxygen molecules per volume of compressed air. The body normally transports oxygen via the hemoglobin of the red blood cells. By increasing the air pressure, oxygen is then driven into the body’s fluids, allowing a super-saturation of tissues and organs with oxygen. The increased pressure infuses the body with oxygen, even reaching injuries with damaged circulation.. Treatment packages will be offered, and members of the practice will have a significant discount.
  • How much is the reservation fee?
Placing the $250 deposit signals a commitment from the patient to proceed with Insight Functional Medicine in a 12-month membership plan. This deposit will be applied to the total cost of a 12-month membership when the patient is enrolled. If the patient ultimately chooses not to proceed with a membership plan, or terminates the plan early, the patient understands that the $250 deposit is non-refundable.
  • How much is the membership fee?
The introductory membership fee is $199 per month with a 12-month commitment paid annually. • Why are you charging these fees?
Great question! As you know, Functional Medicine services are NOT reimbursed well by insurance. Our providers have known the value behind treating patients from a functional medicine perspective for years, but unfortunately a business cannot be sustained by insurance reimbursement alone. We are committed to continuing to deliver optimal care that will best serve our patients, and this allows us to provide the treatment you deserve rather than having insurance dictate what is necessary.
  • How did you get my information?
You are receiving this email because you requested that we contact you when the practice is ready to accept new patients.
